Solutions:

• Replace the ribbon.
• Slow UDMA, Settings from the BIOS.
• Slow UDMA in the HDD with proper manufacturer tool.
• Try using another OS, different drivers set, service packs.
• Replace the HDD or Mother, with another different brand.

In my experience I had successfully resolved this trouble in 3 differents ways times

1) Slow UDMA from HDD

2) Replace HDD's brand

3) Install XP SP1
